Get as many people outdoors and enjoying nature as much as humanly possible.
The Excursion Club at UCSB is an entirely student run, volunteer organization that is committed to getting people stoked* on the outdoors. In a society drifting towards a technological inundation, it is becoming ever easier to lose site of the beauty and fulfillment that nature provides. The Excursion Club exists to combat this through connecting likeminded individuals and providing all necessary gear to partake in outdoor activities as inexpensively as possible. The existence of the club is based entirely upon the concept of connecting those who already enjoy the outdoors, as well as providing those with little to no outdoor experience with the knowledge, resources, opportunities, and support to step outside of their comfort zone and realize what they’ve been missing out on.
*Stoked – adjective – to be “stoked” is to be completely and intensely enthusiastic, exhilarated, or excited about something. Those who are stoked all of the time know this; being stoked is the epitome of all being. When one is stoked, there is no limit to what one can do.
CURRENTLY OUR GENERAL MEETINGS OF WINTER QUARTER ARE HELD AT CHEM 1171 ON UCSB CAMPUS AT 7PM ON TUESDAYS.
